Katya Whiskersky is the farms PR (Public Relations) and Advertising manager. Born and raised in the Moscow, Katya has shown from a young age a great talent towards politics and public affairs. In the early 1980's Katya was at the head of the cities “youth movement for democracy” a group of young Russian animalss who helped a lot in bringing the winds of change and equality to the country who, at the time, was still under the crumbling communist rule. In 1990, shortly after the fall of the berlin
wall, an act which symbolized the new era, Katya was chosen to represent Russia in the animal branch of the United Nations, an international committee working towards equal rights and the prevention of animal abuse throughout the whole world.
During the 8 years Katya had represented Russian animals in the United Nations, she had worked endlessly towards the liberation of farm animals in Africa and other parts of the world and had managed to instate many international laws dealing with the working conditions of farm animals, one of the laws Katya initiated and had managed to pass was the “eight hour working shift” a law insuring animals world wide would not be abused into working more than 8 hour shifts and be allowed time to rest every day. Some of the other animal rights laws Katya had been involved in instating are “3 meals a day” a law that had become world known, “pounds to be pulled by ability – not by size” and “health benefits at veterinary clinics”. This is just a partial list of the laws and regulations Katya was involved in and which have led to her receiving the prestigious Noble prize for equality and peace in 1996.
A few years ago, when Katya decided it was time to hand over the roles she held in the world political arena and retire to a private life, she had decided to make her home in “the happy friends farm” which is known as a place where animals and humans are treated equally. Today Katya puts her talent and experience to good use at the farm, spreading the message of equality and working on towards better conditions, rights and recognitions for animals world wide. Katya is married to Pablo Rightpaws, a former argentinian police chief and is the proud mother of Roni Rightpaws, a world famous guitar player known by the stage name of “Claws Stringer” and star of the rock group “Miao Baby” who released the hits “Milk on time” “Cheese for my Kitten” and the number one hit “Don´t pull on my Tail”.
